The Henry Allen Trust
Event photography capturing The Henry Allen Trust’s annual Black & Gold Ball.

About the Event
The Henry Allen Trust was founded in 2014 in memory of Henry Allen, who sadly passed away in October 2013 after battling Stage 4 MYCN Amplified Neuroblastoma. Alongside many other fundraising activities, every year the trust hosts their Black & Gold Ball - an evening of celebration, remembrance, and fundraising that brings together sponsors, volunteers and partners who support the Trust’s incredible work.
For this years event, held at Whittlebury Hall in Towcester, we captured both photography and videography across the full day, documenting the event set-up through to the evening’s celebrations.
The Approach
Our goal was to reflect the event’s tone - heartfelt, luxurious, and full of purpose. We began early in the day, documenting the Trust’s volunteers meticulously transforming the venue into the premium black and gold experience.
As gusts arrived, we captured formal portraits and candid moments to preserve the atmosphere of anticipation and excitement. Throughout the evening, we filmed and photographed every key moment: the Founder’s speech, the three course meal, the live entertainment, and the highly anticipated silent auction.
Balancing the warmth of the charity’s mission with the sophistication of the event, our visual direction focused on lighting, detail, and emotion, ensuring every frame conveyed both elegance and authenticity.
